What is Stand Up!?

The Stand Up! programme is a Youth Development Programme that runs in four secondary schools, five Alternative Education sites and four PTE’s in Counties Manukau for young people whose lives are influenced by alcohol and other drugs.

The Stand Up! programme equips students with the confidence and social skills needed to make informed personal choices about their health and alcohol and drug use. This service blends evidence-based therapeutic approaches for working with adolescents (aged 13 to 19) with alcohol and other drugs (AOD) or mental health concerns together with a positive youth development philosophy and an understanding of each young person’s developmental context.
