Leadership Connect
What is Leadership Connect?
Leadership Connect aims to help students activate their leadership qualities. The programme will support them to become a channel for other students in their schools to access support services. Students will not be trained to become counsellors but will learn about emotional wellbeing and how to direct other students to the right support system when needed. Students will have the opportunity to develop and deliver their own wellbeing projects in school for other students.
Each session will have a different focus but will be underpinned by the framework of Mana Taiohi and Te Whare Tapa Whā. The programme uses a combination of activities and discussions to get students engaged and thinking about the concepts of wellbeing and leadership, and how these fit into their lives.
This programme is backed by ASB and offered to seven secondary schools across Auckland in 2024. All seven schools will have a cohort of ten within their group and come together at an end of year celebration event to share their wellbeing projects and learnings throughout the year.
